LET’S PLANT!
EP 124 – I built a huge raised garden bed for my succulents, what next?

Earlier this week, I had a delivery of soil and scoria from SoilWorx. It took me a few days to finish hauling what was 2 cubic meters worth.

I normally use a 1:1 scoria to soil ratio for my in-ground soil mix, but in this case I went with a slightly higher ratio of 1.2:1 scoria to soil. This allows me better flexibility with my choice of plants, and I don’t have to redo the mix in the long run.

Following the design I set out for my garden bed, I fixed the foot path heights, put the rocks in their proper places, and I filled in the bed.

Now I have a huge blank garden bed to work with, and I can’t wait to get planting!
