I have citrus trees, tropical fruit trees and vegetables and other fruits in my backyard. Some will make it some won’t. But I can say Broccoli and Celery grow great in Phoenix Winter… Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. Your bananas will begin to bloom we have them in backyard as well. Just cut brown leaves off with scissors keep bulbs in ground.

Looking good. The only thing I would really suggest is be very patient mango trees (and avocado trees as well). You shouldn't have planted the mango tree just yet. Keep it in a pot until you get your yard well established. Bring it in the garage during winter when temps go below 30 degrees they must go inside or heavy protection if left outside. I would say wait a year or two before planting in the ground. Just like in the wild. They like to have lots of friends around for protection. Almost like a jungle.

Looks great! Nice layout. Can't wait to see the jacuzzi and see how the plants survive the summer. Do you have misters built into the design? Thanks for showing this!

Wow! I love what you guys have done. From desert to food Forrest lanai. Had no idea you could grow all that in Phoenix. Thought the heat would fry it all. Do you have to constantly add soil amendments? Or was once enough? What about watering. I know my folks in Rancho mirage have sprinklers that go off 5 times a day to keep the golf course turf green. Thanks for sharing. You’re living the good life 😉

You've spent a small fortune back there. Did you build the benches and everything yourself?
