See pics & read the post here: __________________________________________________________________ MY BUSINESS: JOY US GARDEN This is where I share all things gardening & creating. Let’s get out in the garden & make the world a beautiful place! This is the land of endless skies, bountiful sunshine, a multitude of cacti & lots of wild creatures – oh boy! I wanted to shoot the video tour before I did any kind of work on the garden. I don’t plan on doing anything major right now because it’s the end of June & it’s way too hot. The plants might be survive just fine but I would probably melt away! I’m going to start with a little light pruning & clean up & go from there. When I was making the list of priorities for my house hunting adventures, having an outdoor space and a light filled home were at the top. What I loved about this place is that it has an established landscape that provides a great basis to work from. The house has a lot of windows so the outside vegetation is almost a part of the interior. Does that make sense?! I must say, for being a desert garden, it’s very lush & green. Of course […]

Do you have any friends with dogs? Do they get valley fever or snake bites? I'm in California and was thinking of selling. Also what neighborhoods do you recommend house buying? I don't have kids just cats and dogs!

What is that wood looking  behind you I am a wood person and would love to see it. I have palm pod's the wood look to them and have them as deco and the house inside and at the front porch.  They would look neat around your place.

So enjoyed seeing your new desert garden chuck full of unusual plants like the fence post cactus, well I've never seen one of those before living here in Canada. You have a snake, I've got ground hogs under my deck and a rabbit who visits my garden plus plenty of birds coming to the bird bath. They so appreciate the water on hot days. Love your videos.

Good for you, Nell 🙂 You look great . . . and your garden does, too! 😉 I really like that "Spanish" look your house has with those clay roof tiles and heavy masonry walls, etc. I've never been to AZ (but know people who have), and am surprised that it looks as "green" as it does at your new place! Wow! :-0 They say that it's "dry" heat over there (10% humidity?) but I bet 110F is still uncomfortable. Virginia is hot enough for me! <lol> 🙂 Thumbs up and good luck to you, Norfolk Joe xox

Great garden Nell with lots of possibilities. Hope you are really happy in your new home. Also, yes, definitely keep the kitty inside. I've heard from friends living in Arizona about how you must be very careful of your pets. Looking forward to more videos. :)

one of the things i hated about arizona was the absence of green, esp. in the summer. no trees and parks with trees. no lushness. only brown desert and cacti, even at the parks. ugh.
