[Total: 0 Average: 0/5] You must sign in to vote In this video, I leave my campsite at Pinal West County Park south of Phoenix, AZ and take you along on a pair of short hikes. I hike into the lush Sonoran Desert environment along Interstate highway 8. Both hikes start off from picnic table rest areas, one eastbound the other westbound. It’s early in the morning on a beautiful sunny January day with temps on the sixties. I stop on several occasions providing 360 panorama views of the desert landscape. Towards the end of the video, I pull into an old abandon truck stop showing you a few interesting vintage signs from back in the day. The video finishes up with arrival back at the little county park campground and some information about it. Makes wish I was there, especially now. I am from Phoenix area and love it. But so sad I am stuck in Oregon. LOL Nice video.
I wonder why there is never gun fire in your videos. this is murcia right?
Great video Ray! Does your arm get tired holding the camera up while you are hiking? From what I've read, trekking poles are suppose to be used in pairs and are suppose to relieve the impact on your legs and upper torso when used properly. Might what to try using a GoPro during the hiking and the Sony for the stops and detail shots. 🙂
Very relaxing and enjoyable video, thanks for sharing, Jerry from Tucson
If you're not showing us an upgrade it's a great place to see. Do you use a compass?
Hi Ray good to see the desert this green. Haven't talked to you much since the new truck came along. Hope you had a good trip down. I haven't been on to often letting everyone get the RTR out of there videos/ I think some of the folks are wondering what to do with them selves. At least they found it hard to video something different. But is good to see them enjoying each others company. Look like a nice day to go for a walk. So thanks for sharing. It's always good to see the flowers too. till next time enjoy be safe
Ray I’ve stopped at the little pull off several times through the years. Being a truck driver I’ve seen a lot. I really enjoy your videos. Hope to meet you in a couple years in the Southwest.
My husband loves the desert, me not so much, BUT I'm beginning to appreciate it more and more. After watching your videos, I think I could learn to really like it alot. Thanks Ray for your awesome videos!! Happy trails. 🙂
Hi Ray, any snake encounter while you hike thoses mountains in you trip in the desert.!!??
Very happy I found your channel. Enjoying going through your videos. Lots of good information. Wife and I are about a year away from buying an rv. Waiting for my wife to retire. We just bought a 2018 Ram 2500. Now we just need an rv. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Ray, we really enjoy your channel, watch all the time. Question, when you boondock, do you feel comfortable leaving your rig while you go driving or hiking? Or does Annie always stay at the rig? We would be concern about vandalism when not there. What are your thoughts? Thanks again for all the valuable information.
Ray, I think those purple flowers are "Desert Bells" or "Desert Bluebells" (Phacelia campanularia).
This was a really nice video Ray. Thanks for taking us along.
I think that's near casa grande
You need another DOG your hikes (videos) are not quality they use to be with out one.
Great scenery. Have you been to the valley of fire state park un Nevada?
Great info…thanks! Are there some good sites for free 14-day camping on the BLM land that you saw?
Ray, love the videos. Been following you on YouTube for about a year now. I love camping and grew up doing it. Still doing the weekend and a couple of two weeks in the Colorado mountains in the summer. Me and my wife are in our early and mid 50’s and are ready to live full time RVing. I like how you and your wife stay in more not so busy places and avoid the crowds. That’s what we like. We love boon docking and enjoy hiking and seeing what’s all around us. Keep up the great videos and I hope sometime we can meet up and enjoy some time together.
What the hell Ray, Canadians trying to escape to Mexico?
