[Total: 0    Average: 0/5] You must sign in to vote I stopped at the wrong place at the wrong time in the Arizona desert! The sign said “HORSE RIDING” track, but I don’t think it was…bullets everywhere…WOULD BE ONE BRAVE HORSE TO HANDLE THE JANDLE here… In my native country New Zealand – firearms are prohibited – even our police force are unarmed, they only carry pepper spray and tazers (although that has been contested). To get a permit to own a firearm in New Zealand one has to go through a psychological evaluation, have no prior mental health issues, your spouse will be interviewed, followed by character and reference checks, followed by a police and criminal record check before you can obtain your firearm permit. After you have your permit only then can you can you buy a firearm (and your choices are limited). I’ve been through the process and you have to renew and repeat the above every three years. thats common practice here in that (my) neck of the bush. not uncommon to find several folks out with semi automatic assault rifles enjoying a nice afternoon. being that arizona is "open carry" state an no longer need to carry a permit to carry a concealed weapon a good portion of the population (even in walmart) are carrying a firearm.
