Mexican Feather Grass (Nassella tenuissima) is incredibly drought tolerant. I found this little patch growing in essentially zero soil, in between the cracks in the sidewalk. And during the summer, even if it rains a bit, these plants will barely be able to absorb much water. Clearly they can handle droughts with ease. I also just love the look of them wafting in the breeze.
