Growing vegetables and herbs are an easy and fun way to add a variety of flavor to your foods. Lettuce and Greens Lettuce grows best in the cooler months so grow in the spring or fall. Lettuce seeds germinate very quickly as well, so in about 45 days you will have a garden full of lettuce. To plant, create a groove and sprinkle in the seeds.
