I have one of these. There are cactis attached all around it and I accidentally pulled one off. I just planted it in a different pot though. Will it die?

Great idea with the funnel! Seems to work rather well! I've noticed some cactus fruit splits open when ready, like some ceri , tricocereus , Echinopsis split to expose to birds & ants carry them away and end up planted somewhere else away from the mother plant. You mentioned " gooseberrys, these are something I am familiar with as they grow as a native in the Ozarks. Gooseberry pie is quite popular here, though I'm not a fan of it. Great video Lyn! From Morris park in the Ozarks to across the Emerald isle hope you have had a great day!!! And remember everyone….. PEACE, LOVE PLANTS!!!!

Hi there good morning, at least its early in the morning in sunny California right now. I noticed you use a light amount of fertilizer for your plants. I had been feeding mine what I imagine to be mega strong powdered stuff (veg and bloom) I used on what my mom calls my "special tomatoe plants". (Cannabis plants) Do you think it's a bad idea to continue to do what I've been doing or should I find some weaker fertilizer for my cacti and succulents?

Do you empty the saucers afterwards, just in case water sits there?

My theory is that becouse most succulents have leaves rather than modified spines that cacti do, there is more surface area and cellular capacity to withdraw and store water. As a result, they are less fussy on the amount given and the timing of when that amount of water is given to them. I have seen overwatered succulents many times in commercial garden centres and they tend to rot, blacken and turn to mush in the same way cacti do. So a total disregard of watering will also ultimately result in the same bursting of the plant's cellular matrix. Why garden centres continue to kill and waste they're living products never ceases to amaze me. Many moons ago I used to work in a rural garden centre and left after a few years for a role with better pay, I left full of new horticultural and cultivational knowledge that I had learned whilst being there and working with more experienced colleagues. Staff today are not interested in the same way we used to be.

Awesome Video Lyn , Do you always let your Echeveria grow like Dr. Seuss Trees or do you cut them back and repot the crowns to keep them compact?
