but but, what if you damage the roots while opening the pot?!? And also, a better way to take out the cactus is to set it upside down on something cushiony, then just pull the pot up, and the cactus should come right out. this way, you can also keep the pot to plant smaller or new cacti in it

Any advice how to transplant a large Eve's needle cactus? I have one in my back yard that's roughly 6 feet tall, growing out of the ground, and I'd like to transplant it on the other side of my wooden fence. It has lovely 3 inch needles. I don't want it in the back yard anymore as it's getting too big.

What size of pot should i use for San Pedro cactus? Its 15 cm tall and 5 cm wide. Now its in pot thats about 8cm wide. You said they like to have smaller pots but the problem is it can fall down. Thats why I want to give it some support. Cool video. Tnx!

I rooted my cactus into a mound, but too much sap and white fluid cum out.

  • can i plant them in glass containers? also, my cactus looks just like yours.. is it normal to be this sort of brownish color on the bottom? i thought mine was dead because of that x-x took too much rain.. it still has roots so i'll try to plant them in a glass maybe? so it wont be out in the rain… thanks

Hi Lynn, Just found your website what a lovley cheerful girl you are. I will watch you more now. About 40 yrs ago he was about 10 at the time. our son got into cacti growing, he joined the local society, they all grew them in square pots, they could be placed together thus taking up less room, also looked neater,. I still have a lot of them and I am trying my streptocarpus  in them. I buy lithops now and again.

have you ever tried tapping the clay pot all around its circumference with a rubber mallet? It works fine AND you save the pot !!
