Jadav Molai Payeng has spent 30 years planting 550 hectares of forest in his native home town in northern India’s Assam region. It all started way back in 1979 when Jadav was only 16 years old. After seeing wildlife dying from exposure along a barren sandbar near his home, Jadav began planting vegetation to transform the landscape. Today, the land is home to a variety of birds, deer, rhinos, tigers and elephants. Now Jadav is planning on devoting the next 30 years of his life planting yet another forest. Video Rating: / 5

if there people like him in america id like it more
If you do it, just do it without telling anyone, this is the best way to make it sustainable…. Once the forest is here, then people will only wonder how nature can make such miracles but if you tell them that you are planting a forest, they will worry because humankind always worries when it comes to change. Life is permanent Change.
This man did more then you, me or anyone else will do in his life.
People tried to do this in Queensland, Australia. They were removed by special forces police and charged with trespassing. There are some advantages to having a village-based society. I hope more people consider this when they decide which form of development is best for their communities.
Thank you.
We need more, more Jadab !!
great man.
