I am not a fan of stabby and spikey, I design with the Rain Forest in mind and apply a layering technique to create a symbiotic relationship in the garden. This month Avery Ranch, Austin Texas had a private tour for over 3500 residents to demonstrate how Xeriscape can look. In light of our recent changes in landscape requirements by our HOA. Avery Ranch is setting a trend to allow a”Variance” of our original requirements. Now allowing 75% Xeriscape and 25% sod in the front yard and 100% Xerophytic back yards!! How cool is that? Hi Carmen, find your native color and plant in mass. You will find that you will be most successful by using native plants and compost.
