This school currently has a small garden that provides the students with all kinds of supplemental lunch items like: lettuce, collards, strawberries, cucucmbers, squash, zucchini, figs and lots of herbs! Although non-sectarian, the school occupies a small wing of the Unity Church of Charleston, who has graciously allowed the school to maintain a small piece of their property (approximately .25 acres) to develop a community garden. The school will work with several other non-profits in the area to provide FREE vegetables and nutritional information to families in need through food pantry & outreach programs, and well as work in conjunction with neighboring schools’ and allow students to use this space for practical life applications in science & math lessons! We are so excited about this new project and are currently looking for sponsors. Please check out this video and then visit the school’s website: http://www.montessoriday.com to learn more about the school, the project and the sponsorship packages. Video Rating: / 5
