My boys are Riley who is 12 and Konnor is 11! Our story is this…I’m originally from Arkansas, relocated to Az when I was 15, a young Mom at just 19 plus add some stumbling blocks in life and at 25 I was 100 lbs overweight and feeling pretty hopeless! I began a journey of self discovery then to BECOME a new happier me. I had the Lapband Surgery in 2010 and over 5 years lost 75 lbs and gained many new physical hobbies (running, hiking, tennis, cycling, etc) and fell in love with MYSELF! I have then spent the last 2 years studying spirituality and what that means to me and with the addition of yoga and more veggies have lost another 10 lbs, to a total of 85 lbs over the last 7 years. Constant, gradual, realistic improvements to myself has always been my goal! During all of that, I became a Realtor and in 2015 we bought an 8 acre farm in southern Arizona where I began gardening for the 1st time and then studying permaculture! I became (and remain) obsessed with plant life and all things growing and absolutely love […]

I totally understand your struggles. I just lost my lemon tree this week. Birds are eating more tomatoes than I am HAHAHA. I have to laugh or I'll cry. longing for fall. where abouts in AZ do you live. I'm also fighting with prairydogs. little creeps are even eating my cactus. But I live in San Tan Valley up in the mountains so there is alot of them and nothing to keep them out of yard. very rural. I'm happy to hear that you garden is doing better. please wish me luck.

Elizabeth, make sure you are drinking plenty off water! Love your garden and I love how you never give up! I harvested my first cabbage today and it's in the pot! Thank you for your inspiration.

    Love your new garden !!!!!

  • You should keep barely damp hand towels in the freezer to put on the back of your neck so you don't fry your brain. Do you have an outdoor mister for your garden hose?
