Dave was a great tour guide! We called ahead and booked our tour with Judy who was super helpful! She told us everything we needed to know and was very attentive. We asked about tipping and sadly she informed us the tour guides are no longer allowed to accept tips. Such a bummer because Dave was amazing.
We arrived only 2 minutes prior to our tour and he was waiting with our cart right at the main parking gate. She swept us away and started telling us neat facts and entertaining jokes our whole tour. Clearly he never works a day in his life because he is doing what he loves! He spent extra time with us and also made sure we saw the best animals at the best times from the best spots!
If you get a chance to visit The Living Desert book a private tour! It is not that much more then purchasing a regular ticket, tram ticket, giraffe feeding ticket etc! BONUS: you zip around in your own private cart and get the inside scoop on everything you would just walk by.
A tip is book first thing in the morning when the animals are most active and prior to the heat of the day. Dave asked where we wanted to be dropped at the end and he dropped us at a great stop with tables so we could eat the lunch we packed.
