I read Volumes 1 and 2 from Brad Landcasters books on rainwater harvesting and decided to design my own landscape using the same principles. In Yuma Arizona we receive an average of 4 inches of rain water a year. It is essential to design your landscape to maximize the effectiveness of the water that falls onto your land. I will irrigating my front and backyard, but the water that I irrigate with is very salty. The rainwater that is collected and filled in the basins will help flush out the salt build up in the soils. The Permaculture design principles guided me on the design of the contours of the landscape, and also guided me on the plant selection. In my next video I will be going over my irrigation and planting design for my front yard. Video Rating: / 5
