    how can Tanika which is supposed to be a trademark become the actual identity of th plant This is obviuosly a genericised and invalid trademark

    you call the plant Lomandra 'Tanika' (see above) so the name of the plant is Tanika is this correct

    I  have an issue with the patenting of species.There is something perverse and unethical about  species being treated like someones intellectual property. The fact someone is trying to capitalise on it for commercial gain  on something that had a  traditional use by an indigenous people, only amplifies this sense for me.
