I went to this event expecting some aesthetic beauty, but didn’t realize how much I would take away about myself, nature, creativity, and my mental presence. I really enjoy being able to work through these thoughts with you guys, and will be sure to update you on how this has changed my work + life. I love the desert botanical garden! I really think the flowers/plants defense systems are amazing and makes you really think and wonder about the details. Putting pencil to paper for me is putting my ideas on paper because I have so much running through my head at all times if I don't I will stress my brain trying to remember it all. With quickly drawing or writing out my ideas and thoughts helps my stress levels and let's me focus more on what is going on now and not what if this and that later. Maybe consider doing a meet and paint there during the blooming seasons or its most botanically active times of the year. For me I'm a realistic botanical traditional watercolor type but having people around me with different styles or mediums boosts our inner creativity and it also helps keep the comparing of ones self at a minimum because of the different styles and mediums around you. Good vlog, your experience at the DBG seems to have woken up something inside of you…..remember to be positive and kind to yourself! Take care. From a fellow Phoenician, I hope you're enjoying the fantastic weather!
