Removing seeds from a national park is prohibited. The "leaves" are referred to as phyloids on acacias.

Jeff, in your experience, what is the best way to grow these from seed? At what stage of seeding would I plant them? Do they have to be dried first?  I do have some pods that I collected last season while hiking in Joshua Tree (section 6).  May I ask where your video was taken? It looks like some of the areas I hike.

Well done!  I was searching about this plant as I would like to use it as a barrier outside of my property fence. Kind of a part of security.  To find out that it's edible and medicinal is a huge plus. I'm so excited to grow them.

speaking of snakes, when sleeping in the desert is it true if you drag a rope around you in a circle the snake might keep away from the rope?
