This lesson on the Leaf (P2: Arrangement of Leaves), gives the children an opportunity to take a walk in the garden or through the house investigating house plants. Ideally, the adult accompanying the children should not tell them everything nor should the adult come across as knowing everything, the children must have something to discover. The children keep the desire to learn through discovering ‘new’ things. You can direct their attention to something interesting by asking more directed questions.

There are lots of follow up activities the children could do such as:

1. Still life of leaves
2. Identifying leaf shapes
3. Grow a few seeds and keep one in the dark and see what happens
