Sonoran Desert Weeds in Tucson Mountain Park
October 3, 2021 5:37 pm
Since 2000, Sonoran Desert Weedwackers has been clearing invasive grasses in Tucson Mountain Park. They work about three hours on the third Saturday of every month throughout the year. A smaller group also works about four hours on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. The staff in Pima County provided equipment and transportation to the site. Saturday’s activity is moderate exercise, and Wednesday’s project requires more physical strength. Weedwackers start work early in the summer (6:00 AM) and late in the winter (8:00 AM).
